Thyrm celebrates historic camouflage patterns in the form of Thyrm Camo Hats. These are all limited run. When we run low on one, we are sure to be thinking about designing the next one.
Models
Here are the camouflages we have worked with so far and how we added our Thyrm mark to them.:
- M81 Woodland Camo: This is the bold enlargement of the conventional ERDL pattern used in the US military since the late 1940s. It was developed in 1981 and became popular in 4 branches of the US military. Its colors are vibrant, however it would blend right into a mossy Pacific Northwest forest. We embroidered the Thyrm twin axe and gear logo on the side front of each hat.
- Desert Night Camo: This is a two-tone grid camouflage that helped to mask wearers from Soviet-based night vision devices during the Gulf War (early 1990s). Of course, it doesn’t work well with modern NVDs. It doesn’t make sense just to mask the top front of your head either, if you’re trying not to be seen… Our desert night camouflage pattern includes an upgraded grid resolution and our subtle Norse axe and gear logos sporadically dispersed.
- M90 Arid Swedish Camo: In the late 1980s, Sweden introduced a “splinter” pattern, which has distinct angles. They adapted this design in the early 2000s to work with a desert color way, which we feature in our version of the M90 Arid Swedish Camo. Additionally, the pattern includes subtle placement of the Thyrm double axe and gear logo. A genuine leather patch with the Thyrm Logo is sewn to the front side of each hat.
Construction
Each Thyrm Camo Hat is thoughtfully made to include features we find invaluable as outdoor enthusiasts, shade searchers, and field testers.
Build: Each of our hats is a mesh trucker with a mid-rise, medium structure build. No ten-gallon hats, and no foam front panels.
No Button: If you’ve ever worn ear protection or headphones with a regular baseball cap, you’ll know why we had this removed.
Camo Velcro Adjustment: Flip the hat around when you’re shooting with a camera or rifle and the fabric backing on the adjuster wicks sweat. No clammy plastic closures here. Velcro keeps the hat fitting reliably and comfortably.
Front Fabric: Custom printed fabric that is made in the USA, then cut and sewn in the USA. The M81 Woodland Camo is printed on 50/50 Nyco Ripstop fabric. The Desert Night Camo Hat and M90 Arid Swedish Camo are printed on cotton twill.
Back Mesh: All hats have a nylon mesh back that is durable, breathable, and has a color optimized to go with the camouflage. There’s also a hole for a pony tail.
USA Made: We designed, printed, and constructed these hats completely in the USA.
