The graphic-heavy article showed both the original DarkVault model and its cell phone-specific version, the DarkVault 2.0. Rain includes extensive Thyrm graphics showing features of the DarkVaults in context and alongside text descriptions. The narrative begins broadly, explaining use of a DarkVault 2.0 as “a chest-mounted rig for holding smartphones, designed to be used in “austere” environments encountered by the military or police,” then zooms in on features such as Velcro, camera windows, and faraday-like blocking.
