September 11, 2024, Recoil released “Secure Comms for the Concerned Civilian,” by Iain Harrison.  The news article describes a wide swath of tools that can be used to limit information access, yet facilitate communication when out in the field. Iain took a DarkVault 2.0 Blocking Critical Gear Case by Thyrm into Ukraine, just 10 km from the Russian border, then used the DarkVault 2.0 along with other communications tools to set up a hard to trace communications network with others.

Iain wrote, “By using low-powered Bluetooth emissions, further attenuated by the Thyrm DarkVault case, we’re able to stay hidden in background clutter, as the mesh network device transmits only when it has data to send, and its transmission length is measured in milliseconds.”  Read the full article at Recoil Web.
